Why choose a Lake City Float over our competitors:

1.) Stability and Comfort

Let’s first talk about weight. The heavier the float the more stable it is in the water. A light weight aluminum float can't compensate or absorb the energy (inertia) of a person walking, running, and especially a boat docking. This makes the float dart side to side and heave up and down, making it hard to stand, let alone be comfortable.

Our floats are built rugged and heavy making them very stable. When you stand on a Lake City float you feel safe and comfortable. There is no darting or heaving to knock you off your feet.

2.) Transport and Storage (assembly and disassembly)

The way Lake City Floats does it…

We'll start by talking about our most common float, we call it the "dance floor". This is a 12'x16', a one piece float, and a16' arched ramp compliments it nicely.

"One piece" is the important thing here. Our floats have been engineered and built basically the same way for over 35 years, a lot of the originals are still out there. This is because we build them with transport and storage in mind.

We use two heavy beams that run under our floats, with lifting chains made onto them for picking and storage. Tow eyes are also thru bolted for the towing process. Because of the simplicity of the "one piece" float we can transport and store quicker and more efficiently with less impact on the float. That being said our average price for removal and storage is less than one third of our competitors.

The way our competitors do it…

Many of our competitors floats are mass produced and must be in small pieces to ship. Then there is the timely and laboring assembly and disassembly every year. That is if you can find a professional to do it.

How do you tow, transport, and store these floats? Our competitors didn't think this thru very well. They are not structurally designed to be picked up, or even pulled onto shore in one piece. You have to completely dismantle the float back to its many pieces, somehow store it without losing any pieces, and do it all over again in the spring. Believe me there is nothing fun about this process and because of the high volume of floats being installed in the spring you most likely will be at the end of the list.

3.) Design

Things to think about when designing your float system:

Shore access: path or stairs to abutment

Abutment site: pinned to ledge, poured concrete or wooden structure

Depth of water: how far out you need to go to get enough water

Size: What size boat, or boats, how many people using it at once

These variables are the basic first steps in designing your system; don't get overwhelmed thinking you need to know all of this, that is why we are here. Once you get a basic idea of what you are looking for we can start drawing up some plans, customizing it to what you want.

4.) Service guarantee

The service that Lake City Floats provides is unmatchable. We are professionals who truly know and care about out work. We are on the lake all season monitoring our customers float systems. Mother nature can be harsh, between severe high winds and extreme high and low water levels, some adjustments might be needed throughout the season.

Our floats have been tested and proven themselves over time. That is why we provide a 15 year structural guarantee an all our new float systems; this does not include moorings, chains, and decking.
